Collective Efforts for A Noble Cause
It is always a humbling experience to have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our dedicated healthcare heroes. Together with the support of incredible individuals from all corners of the world who were inspired by the efforts of our doctors and nurses, we were able to donate new scrubs for theater operations to the Cardiology Unit at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka.
During the pandemic, when everyone’s economic situation was volatile, several Sri Lankans and foreign nationals living overseas were inspired by the work done by our amazing healthcare professionals and compelled to donate their hard-earned money to a worthy cause. These funds allowed me to move forward with this initiative, and I am eternally grateful for their generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand during a time of crisis.
To the dedicated staff at the Cardiology Unit, thank you for your unwavering commitment to saving lives and caring for our community, especially in times of unthinkable stress and exhaustion. These new scrubs are a small token of our appreciation for your selfless service and the impact you make every day.
As the Vice President of the Lions Club of Colombo Ceylon Excellence, I am honored to have had a role in organizing this initiative. The Club was incredibly invested in this endeavor, and I would like to thank our Club President, Lion Ayesh De Silva, the rest of the Executive Committee, and the other members for their enthusiasm and support. It is a testament to what we can achieve when we join hands for a noble cause. The spirit of solidarity truly knows no boundaries!
